Important note: Sessions are provided either in person or via Zoom Telehealth. To attend in person, clients are required to be fully vaccinated and to be clear of any cold or flu symptoms.  

 

Please note, new clients must contact Tomi by phone (0403 752 720) before booking an appointment. Tomi is only taking a very limited number of new clients and may be unable to accept all new referrals. 

Each appointment is 50-55 minutes.

 

The number of sessions required varies depending on the individual. Some people need one appointment, while others may come regularly for a number of months or longer.

 

You do not require a referral to see Tomi. You may, however, be referred by your GP under a Mental Health Care Plan. If you are eligible for such a plan, you are entitled to a Medicare rebate for psychological services for up to 10 sessions a year.

 

If you do not have a Mental Health Care Plan, you may be able to claim some rebate from private health insurance, under Extras cover.

 

 

 

Fees

The fee is $190 per session, payable by bank card, using an online payment system as part of Tomi's practice management software system. 

 

If you are referred by your GP under a Mental Health Care Plan, you are eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions a year. The rebate is currently $93.35 per session, so the out of pocket expense is $96.65 per session. Rebates may also be available through private health insurance extras cover, TAC, WorkCover or Veteran’s Affairs.


Cancellations

If you need to cancel or postpone an appointment, where possible please give at least two business days notice. Cancellations with less than 48 hours (business days) notice will incur a $60 fee. Appointments missed with no notice will incur the full fee.

Counselling outside of scheduled sessions

Tomi is generally not available between scheduled sessions to provide additional counselling or support, but is available by phone, SMS or email to organise appointment time changes. Tomi is not able to respond to messages outside of business hours. Please allow 24 business hours for a response –if you have not heard back after that time, please feel free to contact her again.
